The 2005 angling season has finally begun and it promises to be another exciting year.
As usual, there will be plenty of British Columbia's most beautiful - and big - rainbow trout to chase. These fish continue to amaze our guests year after year. As you can see by the photos on this web site, not only are they trophy size, but also a clearly unique and stunningly handsome strain of rainbow. And, whether we go after them in the big lake or cast a fly into one of the pristine smaller lakes, cathcing and landing one is an unforgettable experience.
And, as ever, the folks at Elysia Resort are ready to provide our Quesnel Lake guests with plenty of great food, comfortable accommodation and friendly staff to take care of all your needs.
I invite you to join us this year for the fishing adventure of a lifetime, as we fish Rainbow Waters!
Some Favourite Memories from 2004:
12 LB. RAINBOW
This magnificent 12 lb. rainbow was landed by Manyi Yu of California.
Our hats go off to Manyi for landing this beautiful fish.
It's rainbows like this that make this such a unique and wonderful place!
THE FIGHT OF THE YEAR
In 2004 I had the pleasure of fishing with JD Shultz and his Dad Jack. JD's 9lb. rainbow was one of the most exciting fish of the year. With water running at about a 3 foot chop, this fish hit so hard that JD was soon almost spooled out. I turned the boat around and chased the fish, trying not to put too much pressure on the line, nor allow to much slack. JD did an amazing job of working the fish. Just when we thought the fish was close to landing, it ran again and then a third time. Finally we netted it and did a good release. We won't soon forget the excitement of that special day.
TWO 8 lb BOWS IN AN HOUR!
Gordie Carr of Campbell River landed two 8lb. Rainbows in one hour.
Gordie is 88 years old and after landing the last one, said something I've never heard anyone say before. "God please don't let me catch another big fish."
The Quesnel Lake Rainbow fight hard, so it's a lot of work to land 2 in a row.

BIG BULL TROUT
Richard and Carol Leonard spent their third visit with us at Elysia Resort.
